1. Who we are
de-bAIt is a debate-analysis product in development. In this policy, “de-bAIt,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of de-bait.com and the de-bAIt waitlist and supporter program. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to hello@de-bait.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to run the current site and supporter program:
- Waitlist information: the email address you submit.
- Communications: information you include when you contact us or reply to an update.
- Supporter information: information made available to us through Ko-fi, such as your display name, email address, membership tier, payment status, and transaction details. We do not directly receive or store your full payment-card number.
- Technical information: hosting and service providers may automatically receive information such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, access time, and request logs when they deliver the site or process a form.
3. How we use information
We use information to manage the waitlist; send product, beta, and launch updates you requested; deliver membership benefits; respond to questions; operate, protect, and improve the site; prevent abuse; and meet legal, accounting, or security obligations.
Where applicable, we process information based on your consent, our need to perform a transaction or provide requested benefits, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, or compliance with law. You may withdraw consent to marketing messages at any time.
4. Service providers and disclosures
We use service providers to operate the site and do not authorize them to use information for our unrelated purposes:
- Formspree processes waitlist submissions.
- Netlify hosts the public website and may process ordinary server and security logs.
- Ko-fi hosts the supporter and membership page.
- Stripe processes Ko-fi payments.
- Google Fonts serves the site’s fonts and receives the network information necessary to return those files.
We may also disclose information to professional advisers, a successor in a merger or sale, or public authorities when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or address fraud and security issues.
5. Selling, advertising, and tracking
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The current site does not use advertising cookies or behavioral analytics. Because we do not currently perform behavioral advertising, we do not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals. Third-party sites you choose to visit may use their own cookies and tracking under their own policies.
6. Retention
We keep waitlist information until you unsubscribe, ask us to delete it, or it is no longer reasonably needed for the purposes described here. We may keep supporter and transaction records as needed to deliver benefits, resolve disputes, maintain accounting records, and meet legal obligations. Our providers keep information according to their own retention policies.
7. Your choices and privacy requests
You can unsubscribe from promotional email using the link in a message or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Send requests to hello@de-bait.com. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where law permits or requires it.
8. Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Do not submit information if you are under 13. Ko-fi and its payment services have their own age and eligibility requirements for transactions.
9. International processing and security
Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the current service, but no online transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
10. External links
The site links to services we do not control. Their privacy practices and terms apply when you visit or use them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version here and update the effective date. If a change is material, we may also provide an additional notice where appropriate.
12. Contact
For questions, requests, or complaints about privacy, email hello@de-bait.com.
